Now available in our Autoflowering variant, the genetics of Northern Lights is one of the most confused of all existing cannabis seeds strains because there is no one who can take entire credit for its creation.
Northern Lights was developed as an indoor cannabis seed strain in the late 1970s near Seattle in Washington, although the genetics involved in the cross were known to have come from California the original home of a great many of the most famous cannabis seeds strains.
It was initially a stabilised cannabis sativa strain crossed with an Afghani indica hybrid. Northern Lights travelled to Holland as a clone where it was introduced to the commercial cannabis seed market in 1985 by The Seed Bank. Because it arrived as a clone it could not be inbred for stability and cannabis seed production, therefore Skunk No 1 and Original Haze were used to produce seeds off it so it could be used as a parent plant.
Northern Lights distinctly shows its Afghani indica genetic background; it is a small plant that produces, big highly resinous flowers. Although it was initially developed for indoor growers excellent results have been produced outside.
Northern Lights has a sweet resinous taste and produces a physically comfortable but lazy feeling, known to some as ‘couch lock’.

Northern lights auto fem was the first plant I attempted and it turned out very well, Plant was small and christmas tree shaped. I grew in organic potting soil and watered with general hydro gro series nutrients.I ended up with 2 oz of sticky buds, still curing the flavor but it seems fairly potent.
I grew 1 n.lights auto 1 cheese auto 1 amnesia auto and I critical mass auto under 2 600 watt hps I power lights and balas and he n.lights got me 10.5 Oz the cheese got me 9.5 Oz the amnesia got me 120 grams and the critical mass got me 95 grams. All those weights were taken after dried and cured for 3 months . The n.lights and cheese took the longest at 11.5 weeks from germination and the c.mass and amnesia took 10 weeks from germination to harvest I hope this helps and I'll have plenty more to review as I am trying to grow all of Canucks auto flower series I am currently growing 4 more and I'll keep everyone updated , oh yeah 20/4 light schedule and light nutes.
